FSI (FLORICULTURE SUSTAINABLE INITIATIVE)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

FSI brings together pioneers in the floriculture sector\/supply chain to make sure that at least 90% of flowers are cultivated and purchased in a sustainable manner. This growing number of companies and stakeholders work together to exchange knowledge and promote sustainable production and trade. At this moment in time, members are discussing an agenda for 2025 and new objectives are being formulated.<\/p>\n

Afriflora Sher has been running its business in a sustainable manner for many years.<\/p>\n

Afriflora Sher is collaborating with FSI<\/a>\u00a0on a project that focuses on natural crop protection.\u00a0<\/a>It is a unique project because the results are being shared with other members of the FSI.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

MPS<\/strong><\/h3>\n

MPS<\/a>\u00a0develops and manages certification programmes for products and businesses. These certificates are helping to increasingly ingrain sustainability into the day-to-day activities of companies. The standards of MPS are internationally accepted and are the benchmark in the horticulture sector. They not only focus on the environment. MPS also uses its certificates to promote sustainability when it comes to quality control and social aspects. For instance, MPS offers the sector \u2018tools\u2019 for correctly implementing sustainable entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

Mission
\n<\/strong>MPS helps to raise the profile of the whole international horticulture sector. It does this by demonstrating sustainability and quality, and by encouraging further improvement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

MPS-Florimark trade<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In this day and age, consumers expect companies to be open and honest. But transparency is only possible if each link in the chain is willing to do its fair share. This is possible thanks to the\u00a0MPS-Florimark label<\/a>. This label helps to assess growers, traders and auctions based on the same criteria.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>MPS-Florimark Trade specifically examines the quality and reliability of trading companies, and consists of three certificates:<\/p>\n

Fairtrade Max Havelaar<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Stichting Max Havelaar\u00a0<\/a>helps small producers in developing countries to claim a better position in the supply chain, so they can earn a living from their work and invest in a sustainable future. The Max Havelaar Foundation uses the international Fair Trade quality mark to gradually realise its vision. The quality mark is also renowned as the Max Havelaar quality mark in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

The foundation is part of a large international Fair trade movement. This involves working together to make Dutch companies and consumers aware about the importance of fair trade and to convince them that the quality mark can help them to make a specific contribution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Living Wage Lab<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Afriflora Sher is always trying to improve the living conditions of its employees. An important part of this undertaking involves ensuring a Living Wage; enough income to allow employees to meet their basic needs. All initiatives are based on information and principles in the\u00a0Living Wage Lab.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Living Wage Lab is a platform for co-creation and experimentation. Just like in a laboratory, this involves testing ideas and implementing combinations in order to jointly arrive at new ideas and prototypes. The underlying aim is to address the issue of a living wage. Afriflora Sher plays an active role in the deliberations of the Living Wage Lab.<\/p>\n

Hivos<\/strong>
\nThe Living Wage Lab is part of an international organisation called\u00a0Hivos<\/a>. This organisation is always looking for new solutions for persistent global problems. It uses smart projects to fight discrimination, inequality and abuses of power, as well as the untenable use of our planet\u2019s resources. The primary objective of Hivos is to realise structural change. That is why they collaborate with companies and organisations like Afriflora Sher.<\/p>\n

Afriflora Sher works with Hivos\/Living Wage Lab to ensure a sustainable economy and society.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
