Afriflora, Dillewijn Zwapak, Welkoop Rijnsburg, FloraLife and Manuchar support Koko public school
Opposite Sher Ethiopia’s Blen farm in Koka is a small local primary school. This government-run school educates about 400 children aged 4-12 years. Since the housing left something to be desired, Sher Ethiopia built 2 new classrooms last year. With the help of four fantastic sponsors, new furniture has also been purchased, playground equipment has been installed, the site has been secured with a fence and the toilets have been refurbished. The children can now go to a safe and clean school.
Recently, the new premises were officially opened, and the residents collected an amount of 260,000 birr (about 5,000 euros) as a token of appreciation. This amount will be spent on teaching materials and other operational costs.
On behalf of the students, teachers, and parents, we would like to thank Dillewijn Zwapak, Welkoop Rijnsburg, FloraLife and Manuchar for their generous contributions to this project.
